Buying Guide: Key Purchase Considerations
Consider fit, protection, and reuse when choosing a mattress cover for moving. The following questions help clarify expectations and options.
- What mattress size and thickness will you cover? Choose a bag that fully encloses the mattress with some slack for sealing, typically up to 15 inches thick for Queen and King sizes.
- How important is moisture protection? Waterproof or water-resistant materials prevent staining and moisture exposure, especially in basements or during rain.
- Are handles and zippers durable enough for your move? Heavy-duty handles and robust zippers reduce wear and simplify lifting and sealing.
- Will you reuse the bag later? Reusable bags lower long-term costs and waste, but ensure care instructions are followed to extend life.
- Is visibility important? Clear LDPE bags allow quick inspection without removing the mattress from storage.
