Buying Guide
- Form and usage: Liquid detergents are versatile for handwashing, while pods or powders are designed for automatic dishwashers. Choose based on your cleaning method and dishwasher type.
- Grease removal vs. residue control: If you battle heavy greases, prioritize formulas with proven grease-fighting ingredients and rinse aids to reduce film.
- Fragrance and sensitivities: Scented options can improve the cleaning experience, but fragrance-free or gentle formulas may suit sensitive noses or skin.
- Eco-friendly considerations: Look for biodegradable ingredients, phosphate-free, and packaging that aligns with sustainability goals if applicable to your home.
- Packaging and storage: Gel, liquid, powder, and pods have different storage needs. Keep products sealed and away from children, especially pods.
- Dishwasher compatibility: Ensure powder and pods are compatible with your machine’s water hardness and energy standards to maximize performance.
- Cost per use: Consider concentrate levels (e.g., Dawn-based formulas) and container size to estimate long-term cost per load.
