Buying Guide
Key purchase considerations for green, commercial cleaning supplies:
- Cleaning power vs. safety: Evaluate whether the product provides enough degreasing strength for industrial grime while retaining EPA Safer Choice or PROP 65 considerations.
- Surface compatibility: Confirm the cleaner is safe on the materials you clean most often (metal, concrete, vinyl, fabric, carpeting, wood, glass).
- Concentration and dilution: Concentrates reduce packaging and cost per use; ensure you have appropriate dilution equipment and guidelines to maximize efficiency.
- Aroma and occupancy impact: Fragrance-free options are better for patient rooms or sensitive environments; lavenders and citrus can improve perception of cleanliness in public areas.
- Operational versatility: Look for products that function across multiple tasks—degreaing, disinfecting, spot cleaning, and equipment maintenance—to minimize SKU complexity.
- Regulatory and safety data: Check EPA Safer Choice listings and Prop 65 notices to align with facility policies and worker safety.
- Environmental footprint: Favor products with lower aquatic toxicity, biodegradable formulas, and recyclable packaging when possible.
- Cost per use: Beyond sticker price, consider dilution ratios and the number of cleanings achievable per bottle or per gallon equivalent.
Overall, selecting a portfolio of green cleaners for commercial use should balance aggressive cleaning performance with environmental and worker safety. The Simple Green lineup offers options that span heavy-duty industrial needs and everyday facility maintenance, enabling facilities to tailor solutions by surface type, odor preference, and cleaning frequency.
