Buying Guide: Key Purchase Considerations
Material and durability: Aluminum signs offer long-lasting use outdoors, while plastic or wood signs may be sufficient indoors. Consider weather exposure, fade resistance, and vandal resistance when selecting a sign for exterior spaces.
Visibility and readability: High-contrast text, larger fonts, and simple messaging improve legibility from a distance. Choose colors and finishes that align with your space’s lighting and decor to maximize impact without clashing.
Size and placement: 6″ x 8″ signs are compact and versatile for counters and desks, while larger options (7″ x 10″) suit entryways or walls. Ensure the sign includes an easel or mounting option that matches your display needs.
Message tone: Positive, direct, and clear language helps communicate expectations without ambiguity. Decide whether a friendly tone (Spread Kindness) or a direct directive (No Germs Allowed) best suits your audience.
Maintenance: Laminated or coated surfaces resist moisture, stains, and graffiti. Easy cleaning extends sign life, especially in high-traffic areas or kitchens and restrooms.
Color options: Neutral hues like white, tan, or black work with most decors, while darker signs often provide stronger contrast for readability in bright environments.
Compliance and tone: Some workplaces may require signage that aligns with local safety policies. Ensure your chosen sign clearly communicates hygiene expectations while remaining professional and compliant.
